Weather Delay & Rain Check Policy
Rain Check Policy
Rain checks are issued for extreme inclement weather that includes but is not limited to storms and lightning.
Rain checks are issued based on your position of play at the point of interruption. Prior to receiving a rain check, our guests must present their starter’s receipt to the Pro Shop.
If 4 or less holes are completed An 18-hole rain check will be issued
If 5 – 12 holes are completed A 9-hole rain check will be issued.
If 13+ holes are completed No rain check will be issued
Rain checks issued must be used within the same calendar year.
Inclement Weather
The course at Great River is built on a sand depository and as a rule we can handle 1” of precipitation without effecting play. In the event that the course is deemed unplayable by our Professional Staff, rain checks will be issued.
Lightning Policy
Great River is equipped with advanced lightning detection equipment that sounds when lightning is detected within 5 miles of the course. When the alarm sounds, player assistants will escort all golfers off the course until the lightning is at a safe distance away. This is monitored electronically and our detection equipment signals an “all clear” alarm at this time. Rain checks will only be issued for extended delays or for extreme weather. Great River management will assure the course is safe to allow players to return prior to escorting players back to their position on the course.
Frost Delay Policy
In cold weather, morning tee times may be delayed because of frost. Golfers are advised to arrive for their originally scheduled tee time to confirm your starting time. If the delay is longer than 1 hour, a 10:00am shotgun start will commence play. In the event the frost delay is less than 1 hour, starting times will begin based on a player’s originally scheduled time.
