Course Description

Par 3 - Always take one more club to this slightly elevated green. Short is big trouble due to large deep bunkers. Long is no bargain either, so just hit the green.

Par 4 - A bunker off the fairway left may come into play. A good drive slightly to the right side of fairway should put you at 140yds out.  A very deep green. Check that pin placement.

Par 4 – This is a very demanding drive. Left side of the fairway can end up with tree branches interfering with your approach shot. Right center of the fairway is the best place. The approach could be the most difficult on the course. You must carry a deep ravine to a green surrounded by bunkers. Good luck, you’re going to need it.

Par 5 - A good drive from white tees will get you down the hill and give you another 20 yards. This will put you about 230yds from the green. Your 2nd shot must be right side of fairway because everything kicks left towards monstrous bunkers that you want no part of. Big hitters can reach in two. This is an easy par or birdie. Take advantage of it, you don’t get too many chances like this.

Par 4 – It looks pretty simple from the tee, but not quite. The fairway narrows past the 150 marker. The green is slightly elevated and small. Don’t miss left or right- tough up and down. You better have a short iron into this green.

Par 3 - What you see is what you get.  Don’t miss left but if you bailout to the right, many times the ball does not kick down and stays on the hill for tough up and down.  Club selection is everything, take one less club and trust it.

Par 4 - One of the toughest on the course. Don’t try to bite too much off on the dog leg. Hit your drive at the big tree just right of the green. For you slicers beware the river all the way down the right side. The tree that guards the green is intimidating but a solid iron approach will go right over it. Once you get there you have to deal with a two tiered green –lots of 3 putts.

Par 5 - If you’re a slicer you better sit this one out.  As you’ll see a simple fade and you’re down in the Housatonic. If you draw it, a small fairway bunker comes into play, so just hit it straight. Your layup is downhill into a funnel. Land your third shot a little short – the green is firm and runs away from you.

Par 4 - A generous fairway for most players. Long hitters can drive it up left side to get inside 130yds, but it’s got to be perfect or else.  The green is sloped back to front when the pin is back you won’t see too many shots close to the hole.

Par 4 - Another tough driving hole with disaster on the right side. Once in the fairway you can usually attack the pin with a short iron. Big hitters can take over the 2nd fairway bunker and have only 100yds into the green.

Par 3 - This picturesque Par 3 requires anywhere from a middle iron to a fairway wood depending on where the tee is and what the wind is doing.  Check the pin placement because green is deep. Missing a little short is your best option here.

Par 5 - This hole will bring you to your knees. A good drive will position you for a very difficult layup. The best line for your 3rd is at the tree to the right side of the fairway. If you accomplish that you’ll have a severe uphill 3rd that requires 1 and a half to 2 clubs extra to a green that is difficult to hold. You'll need two aspirin after finishing this hole!

Par 4 - After playing the 12th you would think you would get a break with an easy hole. This par 4 has a narrow driving area with water encroaching the right side of the fairway just past the 150 yd marker. For long hitters, your driver may put you in the water if you’re right of the 150 marker.  Your approach is to a peninsula green so your best bet is to aim left of the green, side pot bunker. Just to be safe you better read your rule book on lateral water hazards.

Par 4 - A generous driving area, but do not hit your ball in the right fairway bunker. Your approach is pretty simple as long as you don’t pull it left.  You’ll know what I mean once you get in the fairway.

Par 5 - The best area to drive is the left side of the fairway. Big hitters can have good angle to green for their 2nd. The lay-up needs to be left side of fairway to avoid a nasty tree overhanging the green. The 3rd shot is to elevated green, so make sure you take enough club.

Par 4 - The toughest driving hole in the world. You need to hit it at least 210yds. Carry, dead straight or tee off from the red tees.  Once in the fairway, you usually have more than 150yds to a green that runs very deep on the left side.

Par 3 - The most difficult par 3 on the course. You must carry the ball all the way to the green, so take enough club.  Bail out to the right is your best bet.

Par 4 - Your tee shot should be at the fairway bunkers with a slight fade. Big hitters can hit through the fairway into those bunkers, so driver might not be the play, especially if you draw the ball. Your approach is to a green guarded by water on the right and a bunker on the left, just the way you want to end your round.  Take enough club and hit it solid.
